Quelle patience!

Returning from a trip to England we were welcomed by freezing temperatures. The pond, covered by thick ice,  was stared at for hours by the heron before it finally left with an empty stomach.

I feel sorry for this famished predator. I also admire its ability to stay still for hours on end. As I storm about impatiently, cursing the weather which prevents me from doing all that needs to be done in the garden, I’d like to learn how it keeps so calm. But each time I try to get near it to enquire it flies away. How selfish is that!

So if you have any advice about how to stay patient I’m all ears.

A bientôt
Bye for now
