Well here goes for a presentation of two months in the garden after a very long break. Two for the price of one is the bargain of the day. Not to be missed !

First of all August, a very rainy, windy , chilly month. The garden loved it ! The agastache Black Adder flowered for a long time.

And here it is with the calamagrostis Karl Foerster and a bit of wind

In the same border the blue flax and the stipa were dancing along with the wind.

The alcatheas also flowered a long time and are still in bloom. The cream-coloured a. Park Allee and the pink a. Parkrondell towering over the dahlia Crème de Cassis.

The dahlia Café Au Lait has decided to transition to pink this year. I have lost all control over my plants. Well to tell the truth I’ve never really had any.

August wasn’t just a month of rain and wind. The amaranthus and the setaria caramel loved the sunny spells which were few and far between.

And so did this lovely sage. If you have any idea of the variety I’d love to hear from you.

Later in the month the echinacea, beloved by all pollinators, was in flower.

And then the Japanese anenomes took centre stage.

anemone hupensis Splendens

anemone Pamina

anemone Honorine Jobert

Closely followed by the sedums, another favourite plant of the pollinators.

Sedum Matrona

Sedum Class Act

In September several of the above-mentioned plants are still in flower.  The  asters  are  becoming  more  prominent.

Aster Kristina

The aster Monch has been in flower since the end of July and is still going strong. Here it’s tenderly embracing the rose Souvenir D’Adolphe Turc.

And here it is in the morning mist.

The dahlias are still in bloom accopmanied in this scene by a sage.

As always the gaura thrive here and look good with the reflowering roses.

So there you have a few scenes of the garden over the last couple of months. If you are as fascinated as I am by the setaria caramel this one’s for you.

A bientôt
Bye for now
