A l’automne les champignons et les chrysanthèmes s’invitent au jardin. In autumn the garden is host to mushrooms and chrysanthemums.
Des champignons pullulent dans les massifs mais ceux qui me font craquer poussent tout discrètement dans la mousse sur le muret du bassin. Mushrooms are dotted all over the borders but the ones I fall for can be found nestling in the moss that runs along the top of the pond walls.
Quant aux chrysanthèmes, nettement moins discrets, ils se trouvent dans plusieurs massifs et apportent de la gaîté au jardin. Les premiers à fleurir sont les chrysanthèmes Clara Curtiss. Cette photo date du début octobre. Sa floraison est quasi terminée maintenant. Now the chrysanthemums are much more boisterous as they boldly take over several borders. The first ones to bloom are Clara Curtiss seen here in a photo from early October. By mid-November they have almost given up producing any flowers.
Poésie se précipite derrière avec sa généreuse floraison et fleurit encore abondamment. Poésie is not far behind with its exuberant flowers which are still going strong many weeks later.
Suivi de près par ce beau petit inconnu. Soon to be followed by this un-named beauty.
Le lumineux Mei Kyo ne passe pas inaperçu. Quelle vigueur celui-là. The vibrant Mei Kyo is hard to miss.
Et que dire de Julia qui normalement ressemble à ça? And what about Julia who should look like this?
Mais qui parfois ne se contente pas de sa vrai couleur et décide de jouer la fantaisiste. Quelle farceuse celle-là. But at times feels that being just Julia is far too boring and adds other colours to her palette.
Le dernier à fleurir aime bien nous faire attendre. Mais quand il arrive avec fracas sur la scène on se dit que l’attente valait vraiment la peine. Je vous présente Messieurs, Dames le majestueux Empereur de Chine. We have to wait quite a while for the final one to flower. But believe me it’s worth the wait as he bursts onto the scene like a star. Ladies and Gentlemen please stand for the Emperor of China.
